SK E&S launches “City Gas Talk” service
 
- Now, it is possible to not only request City Gas services, search for and pay bills, and close accounts using KakaoTalk but also process services on behalf of elderly parents who have difficulties with smartphones through the “Family Sharing” feature.
 
On July 10, SK E&S (CEO and President Yu Jeong-joon, www.skens.com) announced the launch of “City Gas Talk,” which will be provided through seven City Gas subsidiaries (Ko-one Energy Service, Busan City Gas, Chungcheong Energy Service, Yeongnam Energy Service (Gumi/Pohang), Jeonnam City Gas, Gangwon City Gas, and Jeonbuk Energy Service).
 
City Gas Talk would enable customers to check and process services they often use, such as bills checking and payment, transfer requests, and request/cancellation of automatic withdrawals, without dialing customer service. Instead, they can simply use KakaoTalk that is available around the clock.
 
In addition, customers may pay for City Gas bills, request transfers, and process all services on behalf of their elderly parents who are living separately and other family members located remotely through the “Family Sharing” feature.
 
Any customer of the seven City Gas companies affiliated with SK E&S may access and use City Gas Talk by searching the relevant companies on the app or using the QR code posted on the company’s website.
 
In collaboration with Kakao Enterprise, a Kakao subsidiary company, City Gas Talk allows customers to use all services without the complicated membership process. They may simply confirm their identities using their customer information in the app. It also uses KakaoTalk’s smart user interface (UI) technology for enhanced user convenience and intuitive menu.
 
“We will continue to develop diverse windows to listen to our customers’ voices together with “Web Voice ARS,” which we launched last year, so that we may provide convenient and safe City Gas services. We have added the “Family Sharing” feature so that children of senior citizens may remotely process City Gas services for their parents despite living separately. As such, we expect the service to be highly welcomed by both parents and children,” said Lee Gyeong-nam, director of City Gas Business Operation Headquarters of SK E&S.
 
SK E&S owns Korea’s top City Gas market share and provides City Gas services to about 4.4 million households through seven distributors nationwide.
