LNG Power Plant

Paju Energy Service has produced electricity energy by utilizing LNG,
and the state-of-the-art facilities.
The power plant is fully equipped with a real-time air environment
analysis system to closely analyze and manage
ambient air environment.

Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) has been spotlighted as a long-term alternative to coal power generation, which has been the main culprit of fine dust and greenhouse gases. Natural gas power plants emit less environmentally harmful substances and discharge approximately 0.1% fine dust and 0.03% sulfur oxides compared to coal power plants.

2. Misunderstanding and Truth about Water Vapor

Water vapor generated from the power plant is a phenomenon in which condensed water droplets look like smoke when saturated steam from a cooling tower is cooled by cold air. It can be easily seen in winter when temperatures are low, and it is the gaseous phase of water. Furthermore, at the power plant, we have been making effort to verify the harmlessness of the water vapor by requesting a component investigation of the water vapor generated on site to the Korea Testing Laboratory.

3. Thorough Environmental Management

At the Paju Natural Gas Power Plant, we adopted the state-of-the-art facilities to manage emissions of environmentally harmful substances at the lowest level in Korea. In accordance with the Clean Air Conservation Act, we have used Continuous Emission Monitoring System (CEMS), an air quality remote monitoring system, since September 2016, and data of components emitted from stacks are being transmitted to the Korea Environment Corporation in real time to manage atmospheric environment. We also have been closely analyzing the state of ambient air quality through environmental impact assessment.
