Project aimed at supporting corporations in achieving their RE100 commitments
There is a growing interest in joing RE100 which is an initiative bringing together businesses voluntarily committed to 100% renewable electricity to achieve carbon neutrality. SK Innovation E&S is actively engaged in an RE100 implementation support initiative designed to reduce national greenhouse gas emissions and enhance the export competitiveness of businesses. In 2022, we marked a significant milestone by signing Korea's first direct renewable energy PPA with Amorepacific. During the same year, we also secured Korea's largest renewable energy PPA, amounting to 50MW, with SK Specialty. In 2023, we formalized a transaction agreement for a PPA with BASF, a global chemical company.
SK Innovation E&S is expanding its renewable energy business in the global market, which will help the company generate carbon credits and contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emission.
Renewable energy business in the global market
Starting with a solar PV project in Vietnam in 2020, the company has been exploring and implementing solar PV and wind power projects in Southeast Asia. These projects will generate carbon credits and contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emission.
