Yu Jeong-Joon, CEO and President of SK E&S, called for efforts to make the company become a global clean energy and solution provider by making full use of its LNG value chain and improving its business model and the way it works in his new year’s message.
 
In the message delivered on January 2, the CEO and president suggested main tasks for the year including creation of tangible and substantial social values and outcomes, maximization of efficiency through integrated operation of the company’s LNG value chain, expansion of its business of renewable energy and energy solutions and improvement of the way it works to improve its business model. 
 
First, Mr. Yu said, “SK E&S will be committed to creating economic values as well as tangible and substantial social values and outcomes to keep its stakeholders happy.” He added, “the company will conduct renewable energy projects that will allow it to grow together with local communicates, and be more actively engaged in global efforts to address climate change.
 
He also said, “SK E&S will promote operational excellence for its whole LNG value chain so that it can achieve a strong competitive edge.” He stressed that, “We will also double our efforts to become a global LNG player by achieving tangible outcomes from our overseas LNG projects.”
 
The CEO and president continued by saying, “As a green energy company, SK E&S will be more proactive in expanding its business of renewable energy and energy solutions”. He said, “By using its global partnership, SK E&S will develop renewable energy projects in the U.S. and Southeast Asia jointly with its global partners. At the same time, the company will continue to expand the foundation of its energy solution business by exploring the global market.”
 
Mr. Yu also called for the company to improve the way it works in order to improve its business model by creating social values. He said, “Improving our business model is a process of taking up challenges and pursuing innovation, taking the road no one has taken. We should keep in mind that we should always be ready to take up challenges and share and share again capability and information we can contribute.”
 
He looked back on the previous year by saying, “2018 was the first year when we successfully started the full operation of the LNG value chain that we had prepared for several years. Especially, Paju LNG Power Plant was able to achieve impressive results including building global partnership as its business outcomes and operational excellence were recognized.”    
 
Lastly, the CEO and president said, “Starting as a holding company of our city gas business, SK E&S has continued to improve its business model for years and it is well demonstrated by establishment of a global LNG value chain. In the coming years, we will continue to pursue creation of not only economic values but social values.”
